Shipping Policy

Zovu Studio

Thank you for shopping with Zovu Studio. This Shipping Policy explains how we process, dispatch, and deliver orders within South Africa.

1. Delivery areas

We currently ship within South Africa only, unless otherwise stated on our website.

2. Courier partner

We use Aramex Store to Door for order deliveries.

3. Processing time

Orders are processed after payment has been successfully received and verified. Orders are generally processed within 1–3 business days, unless otherwise stated on the product page, during promotional periods, or where delays arise due to high order volumes.

Business days mean Monday to Friday, excluding South African public holidays.

4. Estimated delivery time

Once processed and dispatched, delivery usually takes 8–12 business days.

This timeframe is an estimate only and begins after dispatch, not from the date the order is placed. Delivery times may vary depending on your location, courier operations, weather conditions, public holidays, peak periods, service interruptions, or other factors beyond our control. Section 19 of the CPA requires suppliers to deliver on agreed terms, so this wording works best where your checkout or product pages clearly present the delivery estimate as part of the agreement.

5. Delivery not guaranteed

While we aim to meet all estimated delivery timeframes, delivery dates are not guaranteed. Zovu Studio will not be liable for delays caused by:

  • courier delays,
  • remote or outlying delivery areas,
  • weather events,
  • public holidays,
  • strikes,
  • load shedding,
  • civil unrest,
  • incorrect or incomplete delivery information supplied by the customer,
  • failed delivery attempts,
  • any other event beyond our reasonable control.

However, nothing in this policy is intended to limit or exclude any rights a customer may have under applicable South African consumer law. A blanket exclusion for all delivery failures would be risky because the CPA gives consumers remedies when delivery is not made as agreed.

6. Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that all shipping and contact details provided at checkout are accurate and complete. Zovu Studio will not be responsible for delays, failed deliveries, or additional charges arising from incorrect addresses, invalid contact details, refusal to accept delivery, or failure to make themselves available to receive the parcel.

If a parcel is returned to us due to incorrect customer information or non-collection, we may charge a redelivery fee before reshipping the order, to the extent permitted by law.

7. Dispatch confirmation and tracking

Once your order has been dispatched, you may receive a shipping confirmation and tracking details, where available. Tracking updates are dependent on the courier system and may not update immediately.

8. Risk in delivery

Risk in the goods passes to the customer upon delivery to the shipping address provided at checkout, subject to applicable law. Customers must inspect parcels on arrival and notify us promptly if an item appears damaged, tampered with, or incorrect. The CPA gives consumers rights to examine delivered goods and to receive goods that match what was agreed.

9. Delays

If your order is delayed, we may assist by following up with Aramex Store to Door, but we do not control courier operations once the parcel has been handed over for delivery. In online transactions, ECTA also contemplates supplier obligations around execution of orders, so keeping the estimate clear and reasonable is important.

10. Failed delivery attempts

If delivery cannot be completed because the customer is unavailable, unreachable, or the address is inaccessible, the courier may attempt redelivery or return the parcel to us. Any additional delivery costs may be for the customer’s account where the failed delivery was not caused by Zovu Studio.

11. Lost parcels

If a parcel is confirmed as lost in transit, please contact us and we will assess the matter with the courier. Where required by law, we will provide an appropriate remedy. We reserve the right to wait for the courier investigation outcome before issuing any replacement, store credit, or refund.

12. Damaged or incorrect orders

If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, you must contact us as soon as possible after delivery, with your order number and clear photographs of the parcel and item. Your rights in relation to defective or incorrectly supplied goods are governed by the CPA and are not removed by this Shipping Policy.

13. Public holidays and peak periods

Deliveries may take longer during:

  • sale periods,
  • launch periods,
  • Black Friday/Cyber Monday,
  • festive seasons,
  • public holidays,
  • courier backlogs.

The CGSO has specifically noted that late deliveries are a common issue in high-volume promotional periods, which makes clear estimate language especially important.

14. No shipping on weekends or public holidays

Orders are not processed, dispatched, or delivered on weekends or South African public holidays unless otherwise stated.

15. Statutory rights

Nothing in this Shipping Policy limits or excludes any rights you may have under South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 and, where applicable, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002.
